New boots for my Tahoe Last fall my hubby had new Cooper Discoverer ATR tires installed on my Tahoe. What a difference in handling, snow travel, icy roads and on bare pavement. They are a quiet tire compared to the Continental tires I had on since new. Those tires were absolute garbage as far as I am concerned now that I have my new ATR's to compare to. I feel safe traveling on the road now as I put on a lot of miles over the course of the year with my job. My hubby did a fair amount of research before buying these tires and found that the Cooper tire offered all that was needed for my vehicle and my type of traveling. I really like them so far.
Pluses: Make my Tahoe feel secure in handling. Will travel any weather, any road. Tire Warranty. Minuses: Haven't found any yet!
Cooper Discoverer ATR Purchased a set of four Cooper Discoverer ATR 6 ply lt. tires last fall. My first winter with them has been great with excellent snow traction and also driving on slippery winter highways was no problem at all. I have only 8800 kl on the tires since being purchased. One thing I did find that they pick up a lot of small rocks because of the deep tread. So far I am entirely satisfied with them and their handling in all weather and road conditions. Time will tell.
Pluses: Excellent handeling, traction both dry, mud, snow and ice. Quiet tire on the pavement. Minuses: Small rocks get thrown from the deep tread.
Excellent first impression tire Great tire in the snow, has made my 4 wheel drive GMC Sierra obsolete. Have only driven ~500miles, but so far I am very impressed, not to mention all 4 were installed for less than $500. If the tire wears well as expected, I will definitely buy another set when the time comes.
Pluses: Great in snow, and relatively quiet on the highway, good price. Minuses: None yet
Excellent all round tyre I recently travelled across australia and didnt have one punchure, the ATR is better than my old heavey and noisy BFG AT, the Coopers are lighter and more responsive on road while giving you great offroad performance.
Pluses: Best of both worlds on and offroad Minuses: No as yet
